The Brita filter cartridge has two key ingredients - activated carbon and ion exchange resin. The activated carbon works like a sponge, absorbing additives like chlorine and organic impurities, while the ion exchange resin "draws out" temporary hardness, metals and limescale.

Using a Brita water filter significantly reduces both the taste and smell of chlorine. It also improves the taste and appearance of hot drinks by reducing the hardness.
